BEAVERTON, OR (KPTV) -

A man accused of driving the wrong way on Highway 26 leading to a crash that killed a 21-year-old passenger in another car has been arrested, according to police.

Beaverton police arrested Armando Gallegos, 50, on Friday. He had been in the hospital since the crash on April 27.

Investigators said he was driving a pickup west on the highway in the eastbound lanes near the Sylvan exit at 1:05 a.m.

His truck collided with a Honda Civic.

The front passenger in the car, 21-year-old Brandon Wendell of Sherwood, was killed in the crash.

The driver of the Honda, 21-year-old Taylor Melger, and 17-year-old passenger McKenna Hoffstadt both suffered serious injuries. They remained in the hospital this week.

Investigators said both Gallegos and Melger were intoxicated.

Gallegos was booked into the Washington County Jail on charges of second-degree manslaughter, DUII, assault and reckless driving.
