PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Southeast 17th Avenue ramp that merges onto Southeast Powell westbound will close on Monday, May 9 due to sewer construction along Powell Boulevard.

The ramp will remain closed 24/7 for up to 50 days.

During the ramp closure, northbound traffic on SE 17th will detour to Southeast McLoughlin Boulevard.

Bicycle and pedestrian traffic on SE 17th will not be affected.

Traffic in both directions on SE Powell Boulevard will continue throughout construction.

The sewer construction is part of the Lower Powell Green Street and Sewer Project to replace or repair 4,500 feet of 100-year-old sewers in poor condition, according to the Bureau of Environmental Services.
