Police: Man accused of firing shots after fight with neighbor

CORNELIUS, OR (KPTV) -

A Cornelius man was arrested early Sunday, accused of firing shots after fighting with his neighbor. 

According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded just before 12:10 a.m. to North Clark Court in Cornelius on a report of shots fired.

Deputies said two neighbors reportedly drinking got in a fight in front of their duplex. After the fight was broken up, both men returned to their homes.

The suspect, identified as Huber Lopez-Lopez, 38, went home to retrieve a gun according to deputies.

Lopez-Lopez was upset with his neighbor over the fight and threatened to kill him. Deputies said he reportedly fired his gun in an unknown direction.

No injuries were reported as a result of the gunshots, and no property damage was found.

Deputies said Lopez-Lopez was charged with unlawful use of a weapon, menacing, and harassment.
