PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

The Oregon Zoo broke a decade-old attendance record for the month of April, officials announced Monday.

Zoo officials say 160,405 visitors came to the park this April, topping the previous April record of 144,051, which was set in 2006.

The zoo is holding its Second Tuesday discount for May 10, which offers a reduced admission price of $4 on the second Tuesday of each month.

Parking is limited, and zoo officials urge people to take the MAX or a TriMet bus to get to the zoo. Those who do get an additional $1.50 off their already discounted Second Tuesday admission with proof of ridership.
