14-year-old girl seriously injured after struck by vehicle in Tigard

TIGARD, OR (KPTV) -

A teenage girl was seriously injured after she was struck by a vehicle in Tigard on Monday.

Tigard Police said the incident happened around 5:15 p.m.

Police said a 14-year-old girl was walking with friends in the crosswalk on Southwest Hall Boulevard which leads to Fanno Creek Trail when she was struck by a vehicle.

The girl suffered some head injuries, according to police. She was taken to OHSU for treatment.

The crosswalk has a flashing yellow light that is activated by a pedestrian. Witnesses told police the lights were flashing when the girl was crossing.

The driver remained on scene, and there were no signs of impairment.

Police said the driver of the vehicle is at fault and was cited for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
