PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A man smashed his way into a smoke shop and ran off with handfuls of merchandise.

Surveillance cameras at Smoke N Stuff on 162nd Avenue in southeast Portland captured a shadow lurking outside the building at around 4 a.m. Tuesday. The masked man then made his way inside the shop, turned on a light and ran toward the merchandise.

"I feel pretty violated and a little dirty knowing someone was in here rummaging through things," a Smoke N Stuff employee told FOX 12.

Cameras show the man sliding open a display case and grabbing a handful of vaporizers and e-pens. Employees said he swiped about $1,000 worth of merchandise and it seemed like he’d been in the store before, based on where he went and what he stole.

"The family that owns the company works really hard for this. They are a nice young couple that don't deserve this. Nobody deserves anything for free, you work for what you get," an employee said.

Employees said the masked man left behind a bucket he allegedly used to stand on to get inside of the shop, and with it, potentially his DNA. Investigators dusted for finger prints on the bucket just in case.
