PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

It was a brand new homeless camp set up this past weekend specifically for women on the street, but now, that camp is being torn down.

Advocacy Five is the group that said they were done waiting for the City's approval on the new camp in the Lents neighborhood. The camp was set up on Sunday at Southeast 93rd and Woodstock.

Now, Advocacy Five is helping tear down the camp after the City said they can not set up unsanctioned camps.

Mayor Hale's office said it has placed the women who were living in the camp in safe sleep options for the next two weeks.

The last of the camp will be cleared on Wednesday and it will be relocated in two weeks.
