NEWPORT, OR (KPTV) -

A three-car crash blocked traffic on the Yaquina Bay Bridge and sent one person to the hospital Tuesday morning.

Emergency crews responded to the bridge near Newport at 10:25 a.m.

Investigators said Barbara Matlock, 75, of Waldport, had slowed to a stop heading north across the bridge. The driver behind her, 30-year-old Devon Smith of Eugene, also slowed to a stop. Police said the driver behind him, Ryan Dorman Jr., 32, of Yachats, did not stop and collided with the back of Smith's vehicle.

The collision caused Smith's vehicle to hit the back of Matlock's car.

Smith was taken to the hospital with a head injury.

Traffic was controlled by flaggers and reduced to one lane for about an hour as the vehicles were removed from the bridge.

The crash remains under investigation and no citations have been issued at this time, according to police.
