All Portland splash pads should open by Memorial Day weekend

It’s a scene straight from summer. Jamison Square was filled with families staying cool Thursday afternoon.

Parents and kids took advantage of the park’s fountain.

“They’re pretty much our favorite outing because the park gets too hot and it’s nice to go somewhere where you can splash around and cool off,” said Devonn Moon, who brought her children to play in the fountain.

All park splash pads in the city of Portland should be open by Memorial Day weekend.

Crews are clearing pipes, adjusting pH and chemical levels and checking the mechanical workings before turning them on.

The Jamison Square fountain, Salmon Springs fountain and Bill Naito Legacy Fountain are all running.

The fountain at Director’s should be running again by Friday, after getting some repairs.
