MILWAUKIE, OR (KPTV) -

The Senior Citizens Council of Clackamas County, or SCCCC, raised an estimated $16,000 during its ‘Back to the 50s’ fundraising dinner and silent auction on April 23.

Close to 75 people attended the event at Gray Gables Estate in Milwaukie.

This year marks the 44th anniversary of the SCCCC providing services for home-bound, frail, vulnerable and geographically isolated adults in Clackamas County.

Its programs promote independence, improve quality of life and prevent or end abuse, neglect, and exploitation of at-risk seniors and adults with disabilities.

The event featured a performance by Elvis impersonator Roger Anderson of Bonnie Lake, Washington, who entertained the crowd with songs from the late singer.

Attendees also placed bids on donated items, enjoyed a 1950s-style meal and a 1950s costume contest.

"We might have held fundraisers in the past that drew more attendees and netted more money, but we've never held an event that netted more fun and laughter," said SCCCC Executive Director Christi Bird.
