SALEM, OR (KPTV) -

A Salem couple is accused of buying and selling thousands of dollars worth of stolen health and beauty products.

Michael Rascon, 39, and Maria Rojas, 34, were arrested Thursday.

Salem Police Department detectives served a search warrant on the 100 block of Connecticut Avenue Southeast at 9 a.m. Thursday.

Police said they found a large number of new retail items still in the original packaging at the home.

Investigators with Fred Meyer, Safeway/Albertsons and Target collaborated as part of the Northwest Organized Retail Crime Alliance in this case.

They made seven separate purchases totaling more than $11,000 from the couple, according to police, with a retail value of more than $37,000.

The stolen retail items consisted primarily of health and beauty products, as well as some clothing, according to investigators.

Alliance investigators subsequently notified the Salem Police Department of their investigation.

Rascon and Rojas are facing charges of unlawful racketeering activity, laundering a monetary instrument, attempted organized retail theft and theft by receiving. They were booked into the Marion County Jail.
