An Army veteran suffered pneumonia followed by a heart attack that put him in a coma for more than 6 weeks, and when he woke up, he was ready to make a run for the border.

Jake Booth, 35, spent 48 days in a coma in a Tampa hospital following his illness, and after regain his speech after waking up, his first request was for Taco Bell.

“He actually said, out loud, 'I want Taco Bell,'" Jason Schwartz, Booth’s brother, told online site ForTheWin.

Unfortunately, Booth had to wait to feed his craving since doctors kept him off solid food for another three weeks.

Finally 70 days after his last meal, Booth was able to get his order, putting down 8.5 crunchy tacos.

Booth’s friend Tyler Chronister shared a pic of the moment to Reddit.

“My friend Jake woke from a 42 day coma a few weeks ago,” Chronister posted. “Relearning his speech, he made it VERY clear since he woke that he wants taco bell but has been unable to eat yet. I have never seen true happiness until now.”

Taco Bell was so impressed with their fan that they sent a gift bag to Booth.

Schwartz has started a GoFundMe to help his brother’s family, and hopes to raise $50,000 for them.
