Former Portland Trail Blazer gets bronze sculpture

Posted: Updated:

A former Portland Trail Blazer now has his own sculpture.

A bronze sculpture of Bill Walton was unveiled Saturday in San Diego, California.

The sculpture was created by 26-year-old University of Oregon alum Alison Brown.

The statue stands 6’11” tall and weighs 1,200 pounds.

It is a life-size, highly detailed replica of Walton, and his bicycle.

Walton helped lead the Portland Trail Blazers to its only NBA Championship in 1977.

He also played for the San Diego Clippers, before the team moved to Los Angeles, and the Boston Celtics.

Walton is called one of the NBA’s 50 greatest players of all time.
