(KPTV) -

We have another dress controversy, Internet.

This time, it's a little black dress a Los Angeles weather broadcaster wore over the weekend and the sweater a male co-anchor handed her to cover it up.

Liberte Chan, a weather anchor at KTLA, was in the middle of her live weather report Saturday morning when co-anchor Chris Burrous handed her the gray cardigan, saying "We're getting a lot of emails."

The video quickly made the rounds online and generated comments from people who called the move "sexist" and "tasteless."

Others said the sleeveless, glittery dress wasn't appropriate for a weather forecast.

Burrous later posted a video on his Facebook page in which he stated the sweater was a good-natured joke.

"Listen, if you don't get it, you shouldn't be watching the show. We kid each other all the time," Burrous said.

On her personal website, Chan agreed.

"For the record, I was not ordered by KTLA to put on the sweater. I was simply playing along with my co-anchor's joke, and if you've ever watched the morning show, you know we poke fun at each other all the time," Chan wrote.

Chan said the beaded cocktail dress was a backup for another outfit she'd planned to wear that didn't end up working with the cameras.
