Police: Wanted man arrested in McMinnville with meth, stolen gun

MCMINNVILLE, OR (KPTV) -

A man with a felony warrant was arrested in McMinnville with 2 ounces of methamphetamine and a stolen gun, according to police.

Officers stopped a vehicle near the intersection of Southwest Fellows Street and Eckman Court at 11 p.m. Saturday.

The driver was identified as Leonardo Leija, 33, of Salem. Police said he was taken into custody on a felony warrant for his arrest.

Drug detection K-9 Jack alerted to the exterior of his vehicle. A search was conducted inside the vehicle and more than 2 ounces of meth was found, according to police, along with scales and packaging material.

Police said they also located two loaded semi-automatic firearms. One of the guns was reported stolen out of McMinnville.

Leija was booked into the Yamhill County Jail on the warrant, as well as charges of felon in possession of a firearm, first-degree theft by receiving, resisting arrest, carrying a concealed weapon and unlawful possession and distribution of methamphetamine.
