Oregon on track to cast 1 million ballots for primary election

(KPTV) -

Officials are predicting that a million ballots will be cast in the primary election in Oregon, the highest voter turnout since the 2008 election.

Vermont senator Bernie Sanders is hoping to pull off an upset against Hillary Clinton in the Democratic race.

A recent poll showed that Clinton leads with the typical voter turnout, with 48 percent saying they will vote for Clinton and 33 percent saying they will vote for Sanders.

However, officials say a high voter turnout could make the race a little tighter.

Donald Trump is the presumptive Republican nominee.

Oregon voters have until 8 p.m. Tuesday to turn in their ballots.
