HILLSBORO, OR (KPTV) -

Hillsboro Fire and Rescue responded to a blaze at a vacant Hillsboro home Monday night.

Firefighters arrived at the house at 1124 Walnut St. around 9:35 p.m.

A Hillsboro police officer reported the fire after he saw flames and smoke coming from a two-story, 1920’s vintage house.

Crews said they arrived to find flames coming from boarded up windows and the eaves of the wood frame.

About two dozen firefighters were able to ventilate the attic and extinguish the flames in about 35 minutes.

Major fire damage was done to the home.

There is no word yet on the cause of the blaze.
