SALEM, OR (KPTV) -

If you live in Oregon's capital, you also happen to live in the state's most 'affordable' city.

At least, that's according to a new ranking from Livability.com.

The website said home ownership in Salem is a good value, with a median home price of $181,500 and a median household income of $46,273.

It will come as no surprise to most Oregonians that Portland didn't make the list.

Here's the full ranking:

  1. Salem
  2. Hillsboro
  3. Oregon City
  4. Gresham
  5. Albany

The website didn't list the characteristics or statistics it used to come up with the rankings, but the writer said "Quality of life was just as important as cost of living in our consideration."
