Two-alarm fire damages apartment building in N. Portland, no injuries reported

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Portland Fire and Rescue responded to a two-alarm commercial fire in north Portland on Tuesday.

PFandR were called out to the fire at 5:15 p.m. The fire was located at N. Interstate Avenue and Alberta Street in an apartment building above two businesses.

When crews arrived they saw heavy fire and smoke coming from a second-story apartment window.

Fire crews were able to extinguish the fire. The fire did not spread to the two businesses below.

Three people living in the apartments were able to get out safely and were uninjured.

A fire investigator is looking into the cause of the fire but did say that no working smoke alarms were found in the apartment.
