PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Another small earthquake struck underneath Mount Hood early Wednesday morning.

The Pacific Northwest Seismic Network said this was a magnitude 2.4 quake that hit around 1:30 a.m. about 1.8 miles deep in the earth’s crust.

Recently sensors have been picking up several small earthquakes underneath Mount Hood, but experts say there is nothing to worry about.

Officials from the Cascades Volcano Observatory said that earthquake swarms are not out of the ordinary.

Experts have also been monitoring a recent swarm of earthquakes underneath Mount St. Helens. Wednesday marks the 36th anniversary of the 1980 eruption.
