HILLSBORO, OR (KPTV) -

Crews from Hillsboro Fire and Rescue responded to a one-alarm fire just after 9:30 a.m. Wednesday on the 1000 block of Northeast Jackson Street.

A woman called 911 after noticing a fire and hearing the smoke alarm sound in her apartment.

The woman and two small children were outside when crews arrived, and were treated at the scene but declined to be taken to a hospital.

Crews were able to knock down the flames and spent 20 minutes clearing smoke from the apartment.

Fire investigators determined the blaze started in a bedroom, but do not yet have a damage estimate and are still reviewing the scene to determine a cause.
