HILLSBORO, OR (KPTV) -

A 13-year-old pedestrian was struck in Hillsboro Wednesday by a 22-year-old driver, according to police

The crash happened at the intersection of Southeast River Road and Southeast Witch Hazel Road.

Police said the suspected driver, Ceferino Santos, 22, in a Honda left the scene, but returned shortly after the incident. Santos then traveled down River Road and crashed into a ditch.

The victim suffered minor injures, and was taken to a local hospital, and Santos was unharmed.

According to police, Santos was under the influence at the time of the crash.

Police are looking for the Santos' girlfriend who was with him at the time of the crash. They believe she may have been dropped off somewhere before the incident.

Santos was arrested and taken to Washington County Jail and was charged with hit and run, DUII, assault in the fourth degree, two counts of reckless endangerment, reckless driving, and two counts of criminal mischief in the second degree.
