BEAVERTON, OR (KPTV) -

As students from Forest Grove High School staged a walk out protest Thursday morning, students from other area schools held their own events is a sign of solidarity.

Rallies were held outside Liberty High School, Beaverton High School, Hillsboro High School and Glencoe High School, among others.

The protest in Forest Grove began over a banner hung in the school reading “Build A Wall,” referencing a campaign point from presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.

School officials said the students responsible for the banner were immediately disciplined.

Forest Grove High School recently faced another incident involving racially-charged language.

In March, a student was disciplined for calling a teacher a racial slur while walking by her classroom.
