PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Portland police hope the public can help locate two paintings that were stolen earlier this year and may have been sold or traded.

The paintings were stolen during a home burglary on Hayden Island in March 2016.

The suspect in the burglary, Ryan Stephen Hentz, 32, was arrested later that month but the paintings were not recovered.

Police believe the artwork may have been sold or traded, likely to someone who didn't know they were stolen.

Investigators said the paintings have tremendous sentimental value to their owner, as they were painted by a family member who is now deceased.

Anyone who has the paintings can turn them in to local law enforcement.

Tips on the paintings whereabouts can also be made by contacting Crime Stoppers of Oregon.

Anonymous tips can be made online, by calling 503-823-4357 or by texting "823HELP" and the tip to 274637.
