Timber Joey, Uber team up to take MLS Cup around Portland

Posted: Updated:

It was a rare opportunity for Portland Timbers fans Thursday. Not only could they see the MLS Cup, Timbers mascot Timber Joey would bring it right to their door.

Thursday afternoon, Timber Joey partnered up with the ride-sharing company Uber to bring the MLS Cup around the city.

All people had to do was request the Timbers cup in the Uber app. Then, Timber Joey would come out to businesses or homes with the cup.

"It's not every day that you get to see the MLS Cup and we can only put so many people in our stadium, so it's a great opportunity to get out there and show it off and we're just really thankful that Uber was on board to help us show it off," he said.

After a full day of driving around, the cup was taken to the Boys and Girls Club.

The Timbers have a standing partnership with Uber.
