Gladstone appoints new police chief

GLADSTONE, OR (KPTV) -

The city of Gladstone has permanently appointed a new police chief.

Jeff Jolley has been with the Gladstone Police Department for nearly 4 years and has 22 years of experience in police work, serving as an officer in the Bountiful, Utah Police Department.

Gladstone officials said Jolley has held positions as Sergeant and Lieutenant before being named Interim Police Chief in April, 2015.

"In addition to his impressive experience and credentials, Jeff is well regarded and respected by Gladstone police officers and neighboring law enforcement agencies, and has built positive relationships with other City departments and community stakeholders,” said Gladstone City Administrator Eric Swanson.

According to a press release, Jolley also served as a military police officer in the U.S. Navy Reserve and has experience as a SWAT team member, a school resource officer and firearms instructor.

Jolley will officials be sworn in as Chief of Police in June.
