Man wanted for wife’s death in Warm Springs found dead

A man wanted in connection to his wife’s death in Warm Springs was found dead in Deschutes County Saturday, according to the FBI.

FBI agents and Warms Springs Police Officers were trying to find Mark Johnson Jr., as part of an investigation into the death of his wife, Candelaria Rhoan.

Officers found Rhoan’s body inside her Warm Springs home early Thursday morning.

At approximately 3 p.m. Saturday, Deschutes County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a car over a cliff in the Deschutes River Canyon near Lower Bridge Way in Terrebonne.

According to the FBI, deputies arrived and determined that the man inside the car was deceased.

The vehicle was found more than 100 feet down the slope below a 50-foot sheer cliff. For safety reasons, the recovery of Johnson’s body was delayed until Sunday morning.

Both Johnson, 33, and Rhoan, 30 were members of the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs.

Deschutes County Sheriff's Detectives continue to investigate the vehicle incident in cooperation with other agencies, including the FBI, Warm Springs Police Department and the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.
