Police looking for hit-and-run suspect in Medford

MEDFORD, OR (KPTV) -

The Medford Police Department is looking for a suspect accused of driving away after hitting a car and pedestrian along Crater Lake Highway early Sunday morning.

Officers responded to the area of Crater Lake Highway and Cardinal Avenue at approximately 1:15 a.m., according to the Medford Police Department.

According to police, it was reported that the suspect vehicle was driving northbound on Crater Lake Highway at a high rate of speed, and collided with a pickup truck it was trying to pass on the right shoulder of the road.

The vehicle continued to drive and struck a pedestrian who was walking along the shoulder of the road.

According to police, the pedestrian was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver and passenger of the pickup were uninjured.

The suspect vehicle was last seen driving northbound on Crater Lake Highway, according to the Medford Police Department.

Police said the vehicle was described as a white older model sedan, similar to a BMW with tinted windows.

The vehicle should have heavy front end damage on the driver's side according to police.
