GLADSTONE, OR (KPTV) -

Gladstone police are looking for Capt. Frank Wilson because they have some items that belong to him.

Officers said a Purple Heart and Bronze Star Medal were discovered in a home in Gladstone.

The honors are believed to have been earned by Wilson for his service in Germany during World War II.

According to a newspaper article found with the medals, Wilson's artillery unit was providing support for the U.S. infantrymen advancing against the Siegfried line in Germany when he was injured by a hand grenade.

Investigators said Wilson lived in the home where the medals were found about 1 ½ years ago, but his currently location is unknown.

Anyone with information about how to reach Wilson or his family is asked to contact the Gladstone Police Department.
