GLENDALE, OR (KPTV) -

A woman in Glendale fell 40 feet into a well Monday, according to the Glendale Ambulance District.

She was walking over a wood plank that was covering a well house she was working on when it gave way.

Officials said she fell around 2 p.m., and crews did not get a call about the incident until 5:15 p.m.

They said if not for her coworker checking on her, who knows how long she would have been down there.

Several volunteer firefighters responded, along with police and medical personnel.

Crews were able to pull her up using a rope and harness system at around 6 p.m., according to officials.

She was taken to a local hospital and is doing okay.
