CORVALLIS, OR (KPTV) -

Officers arrested a man Monday night after he defecated in the middle of a grocery store, and then did the same thing in a stranger’s home a few blocks away, according to police.

Corvallis police responded to the Safeway grocery store at 450 S.W. 3rd St. around 10 p.m. after receiving reports of a man defecating in an aisle in the store.

Employees said the man was walking around the store when he lowered his pants and defecated. Police said the employees were finally able to get him to leave, but not before he tracked feces around the store.

When police arrived, they found belongings the suspect left in the store, which identified the man as Tim Kielty, 54, of Corvallis.

Officers then received a report about a home on the 300 block of Southwest 7th Street where a resident said a naked, intoxicated man had entered his home.

Police determined Kielty had gotten into the home through an unlocked door and proceeded to defecate on a couch. The homeowner asked Kielty to leave, but he refused, instead asking for a towel.

Police took Kielty into custody at the home, and determined he was under the influence of an inhalant. He was cited and taken to a local hospital for an evaluation.

Kielty is facing charges of criminal mischief, trespassing and disorderly conduct.
