DEPOE BAY, OR (KPTV) -

A man was rescued after calling for help from his pickup that was crashed down an embankment in Depoe Bay.

Emergency crews were notified at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday about the caller, who said he thought he had crashed about an hour earlier.

The 25-year-old man said he was down an embankment where nobody from the road could have seen him.

The caller said he could see a sign that said, "South Fogarty Creek," which led first responders directly to his location.

Firefighters said the man was trapped in his truck and had sustained severe injuries. After an hour, firefighters were able to rescue him.

The man was flown to a Portland trauma center for treatment. An update on his condition was not available.

No details were released about what led to the crash.
