PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

The Portland Police Bureau identified Wednesday the man that allegedly opened fire on officers at a mobile home park in northeast Portland Tuesday night.

PPB arrested 63-year-old Timothy James Bucher after he confronted officers with a gun at the Fox Run mobile home park on Northeast Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard around 7:30 p.m.

Police said Bucher retreated into a mobile home in the neighborhood. Bucher’s mother was also inside.

Portland officers said Bucher fired multiple shots at police and some neighboring homes. Residents were told to shelter in place unless told to evacuate.

Officers were able to get closer to the home by using an armored truck.

Officials said officers were able to get Bucher’s mother out safely. Later, officers fired tear gas into the home, forcing Bucher to surrender.

No injuries were reported.

Bucher is facing multiple charges including attempted murder, reckless endangerment of another person and unlawful use of a weapon.
