PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Camping and parking at state parks in Oregon will be free next Saturday, June 4.

The promotion is in honor of State Parks Day, which always falls on the first Saturday in June.

Oregon Parks and Recreation will waive the rental fee for full hookup, electrical hookup and tent camping sites the night of June 4.

Parking at parks that charge a day-use fee will be free on both June 4 and June 5.

While the campsite rental itself is free, the 42 parks that take reservations will still charge an $8 reservation fee.

In order to take advantage of the free camping, you'll need to make reservations before 5 p.m. June 3.

Reservations can be made online or by calling 800-452-5687.

Parks statewide are also planning free events throughout the weekend. For more information, go to http://bit.ly/OPRDcalendar.
