ALBANY, OR (KPTV) -

The bomb squad responded to the Linn County Mental Health building in Albany on the report of a suspicious package Tuesday night.

An employee was closing the building and discovered a Styrofoam container resting near a door on the 3rd Avenue side of the building.

It was not known when the packaged was left at the location.

Deputies and police officers closed 3rd Avenue and the building's east parking lot for the investigation.

The Oregon State Police Bomb Squad and a Salem Police Department bomb technician were called to the scene.

The package was examined and determined to be empty.

The road was closed for around three hours.
