PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

An 11-year-old boy stole a car and slammed into several parked cars in north Portland, according to police.

Officers responded to the 4200 block of North Juneau Street at around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday. Witnesses reported a drunken driver was hitting parked cars.

As officers were on the way, they received additional information that the driver was running away from the scene.

The car was spotted on the 3300 block of North Farragut Street, about one mile from the original crash scene.

Two young suspects were then found hiding in the neighborhood, according to police.

Officers said the driver was an 11-year-old boy. His passenger was a 13-year-old boy.

Both boys were reported as runaways.

Investigators said the car was stolen and the 11-year-old crashed into at least three vehicles. There were no reports of any injuries.

The two underage suspects were taken to the Donald E. Long Juvenile Detention Home on charges of unlawful use of a motor vehicle. Police said additional charges may be added by the Multnomah County District Attorney's Office at a later time.
