VANCOUVER, WA (KPTV) -

A man was arrested in Vancouver Wednesday, accused of dragging a dog by the leash on the side of his truck, according to the Vancouver Police Department.

On Sunday, police responded to the report that a dog was dragged by a truck to a home on the 3300 block of East 21st Street. Witness also reported hearing a dog yelping and crying loudly according to police.

Officers went the home on East 21st Street and attempted to talk to the people inside, but were unable to go in and check the dog’s condition.

According to Vancouver Police, a search warrant was then executed for the home, as well as the truck that was allegedly involved in the incident.

Once inside the home, Vancouver Police found a deceased female dog.

Based on witness accounts and evidence as part of the investigation, Vancouver Police arrested David Kadow, 52, at his home.

Kadow was booked into the Clark County jail for 1st degree animal cruelty, and driving with a license suspended in the 3rd degree.
