Time capsule from 1938 opened at Beaverton HS

Posted: Updated:

A time capsule at Beaverton High School from 1938 was opened for the first time Wednesday.

The 70-year-old capsule was opened as part of the school’s 100-year celebration.

Inside the capsule were newspapers, coins, class pictures, report cards, and more.

Wednesday’s unearthing was special because it was not easy to find because the building has been renovated.

All of the items found in the capsule will be on display Wednesday night, and a new capsule will be sealed in honor of the centennial celebration.

The new capsule will be opened in 50 years.
