OLCC holds public meeting to hear from marijuana businesses

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

The OLCC held a public meeting Wednesday to hear from marijuana businesses about the changes they want made.

Right now, it is pretty expensive to get a marijuana permit, and business owners need one to be able to produce, sell, test, or deliver marijuana for recreational use.

Ryan Mcabery owns Diesel Coffee, a start-up company that sells cannabis infused coffee.

She says right now, she can’t try her product before selling it.

She showed up to the meeting Wednesday to see if that can change.

“Currently under the current statutes I cannot sample my product with the public. I can't get feedback on it before I retail it, and I'd like to know if it tastes good and makes people happy. I'd like to be able to try it legally and I don't believe that I can under the current statutes so I’d like to discuss and change that,” Mcabery said.

Today’s hearing was just a public meeting to get feedback.

There is now word on if or when the OLCC will vote on making changes.
