WASHINGTON COUNTY, OR (KPTV) -

UPDATE 9 a.m.: The Washington County Sheriff's Office said Ellis has been found. He was injured and spent the night in the woods, but deputies said he was otherwise in good health.

Washington County deputies are searching for a fisherman who went missing Wednesday afternoon in the Gaston area.

Deputies said Glenn Ellis, 53, was dropped off around 1 p.m. near Gaston to go fishing on the Tualatin River.

When family came back to pick Ellis up later that night, he was nowhere to be found. Ellis did not have any overnight provisions.

Family members told deputies that Ellis has had surgery recently and they are worried about his physical safety.

Washington County Search and Rescue crews have been searching for Ellis via ground and air since Wednesday night.

Ellis is described as a white man, about 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighing about 300 pounds. He was wearing a t-shirt, shorts and sandals.

Deputies said northwest Mount Richmond Road and southwest Patton Valley Road just west of Gaston is the search area.

Anyone with information on Ellis should call 911.
