Shots fired in N. Portland neighborhood; no reports of injuries

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Police are investigating after shots were fired in a north Portland neighborhood Thursday afternoon.

Officers responded to North Mallory Avenue and Alberta Street at 2:09 p.m. Thursday.

The officers were then directed to North Rodney Avenue and Alberta Street, where they discovered evidence of gunfire. Shots hit a home and a recycling bin in the area. 

Police said no gunshot victims were located at the scene or taken to an area hospital.

Witnesses told police that a purple vehicle left the area after the gunshots were heard, but it's not known if the occupants of the vehicle were involved in the shooting.
