TUALATIN, OR (KPTV) -

A man and his two young sons were rescued after their canoe on the Tualatin River Saturday afternoon, according to Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue.

Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue’s Water Rescue Team and other members of the Clackamas County Water Rescue Consortium responded to reports of three people fell out of their canoe after it submerged in the Tualatin River between Crook Park in Tualatin and City Park in Tualatin.

All three people in the canoe were wearing life jackets, according to officials.

After launching a boat from the Tualatin City Park boat ramp, Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue crews were able to get to the canoers who had climbed to the river bank near the 8600 block of Southwest Chinook Street in Tualatin.

The victims were initially found by another boater in the water, who was able to tell emergency crews their exact location.

Once safe on land, the father and two sons were evaluated by paramedics.
