PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A crash led police to the arrest of a woman for domestic violence in North Portland on Saturday.

Officers received a call just after 7:50 a.m. that a car had crashed near North Rivergate Boulevard.

After an investigation, officers learned that the crash was a result of a domestic dispute. According to police, a man in the car had suffered a stab wound and was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police said it appears the two had been at an area hotel when the argument happened. After the suspect stabbed the victim, they both left in the car.

The suspect was driving recklessly and eventually crashed, according to police.

Police arrested Heather Richardson, 24, for two counts of fourth-degree domestic violence assault, coercion, and reckless driving.

On Tuesday, the district attorney's office issued a no complaint order in the case, meaning the charges have been dropped for the time being while a grand jury reviews the case.
