WEST LINN, OR (KPTV) -

A Lake Oswego firefighter was arrested early Sunday morning after punching an Oregon Lottery machine and then driving drunk away from a West Linn bar, according to police.

Officers said workers at the West Linn Saloon called police to report the behavior of 45-year-old Christopher Neely at 1:20 a.m. Sunday.

West Linn officers pulled Neely over a few blocks from the bar. Investigators said a breath test revealed he had a .17 blood alcohol content, more than twice the legal limit.

Neely was arrested on charges of DUII and second-degree criminal mischief.

Police said the bar's lottery machine required repairs. It wasn't known why he punched the machine, according to investigators.

A Lake Oswego Fire Department spokesperson said Neely, a lieutenant, has been placed on paid administrative leave.
