PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Police are asking for the public's help identifying a person of interest in connection with an explosion at a Fred Meyer store in southeast Portland.

Officers and firefighters responded to the store on the 5200 block of Southeast 82nd Avenue at 11:55 a.m. May 21.

Investigators said there was a small explosion in aisle 13 among travel size items on display.

There were no injuries and no major damage to the store. The store remained open during the investigation.

The Metropolitan Explosives Disposal Unit responded and confirmed that the explosion came as a result of a small explosive device.

On Wednesday, investigators released a surveillance image of a man considered a person of interest in the case.

He is described as a white man in his late 20s with a thin build. He was wearing an oversized green jacket and dark pants.

Crime Stoppers is offering a reward up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest in this case.

The Portland Police Bureau, Portland Fire & Rescue and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives have been involved in the investigation.
