BEAVERTON, OR (KPTV) -

The Beaverton School District is facing a Title IX lawsuit claiming that the district treats male athletes more favorably than it's female athletes, and now, the woman behind the suit is speaking out.

The lawsuit claims female teams pay more in fees and charges for their sports but get less practice time and unfavorable practice schedules compared to the male sports programs.

"We have girls that have left sports because of conditions, and how would it make any woman feel to know you're in a public school and this is how you're being treated?" said Linda Nezbeda.

Nezbeda is part of Beaverton Community Foundation, a group that creates programs that all students have access to, regardless of being able to pay.

FOX 12 reached out to the district for a comment on the lawsuit. They said they have not yet received the lawsuit.
