Police: Customers capture suspect in store robbery

MEDFORD, OR (KPTV) -

Customers are credited with holding down a suspect attempting to rob a Medford Business until police arrived.

Medford Police report that 25-year-old transient David Flowers entered Short Stop Market on 3320 North Pacific Highway Friday at 4:35 p.m. and demanded money from the cashier.

Officers said a customer in line behind the suspect saw what was happening and put Flowers in a choke hold and threw him to the ground. That customers and others then held Flowers down until police arrived.

According to police, Flowers was armed but there were no reported injuries.

Flowers was arrested and charged with second degree robbery. He is being lodged at the Jackson County Jail on $1,000,000 bail.
