Two rescued from Northeast Portland apartment fire

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Two people were rescued from an apartment fire in Northeast Portland.

Portland Fire & Rescue crews were called to the apartment on Northeast Jarrett Street just after 1 a.m. Sunday.

One person had made it out, but reports were that two other people were still inside.

A neighbor was responsible for rescuing one child according to Portland Fire and Rescue. The neighbor entered the living room and was able to get the child out.

According to fire crews, a second child was found in a bedroom by firefighters and was carried out of the apartment.

All three people were taken to the hospital, and their condition isn’t known.

The Red Cross is helping the three adults and two kids that live in the home.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
