MOSIER, OR (KPTV) -

A sewer emergency has been declared in the city of Mosier.

Investigators say the Mosier waste water treatment plant and sewer lines are non-operational as a result of damage from the train derailment on Friday.

The city asks people to not flush their toilets or run water in sinks or bathtubs until further notice.

A boil water order is currently in place for the city of Mosier as well as a precaution.

Officials say a light seen of oil has been seen in the Columbia River at the mouth of Rock Creek, and a containment boom has been used to contain the sheen.

Crews have been working to clean up and remove the tank cars that derailed.

People living within a quarter of a mile of the derailment remain evacuated.
