PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Portland Public Schools is partnering with Multnomah County and will be offering free blood lead level testing to children Monday and Tuesday.

PPS said in a release that parents will be able to have their kids tested at Rose City Park School on Monday and Creston School on Tuesday.

Kids can get their blood drawn from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. on both days.

The free blood testing comes after elevated amounts of lead were found in the drinking water at several PPS schools in May.

Both Rose City Park and Creston schools were found to have high levels of lead.

According to medical experts, lead is something people cannot see, taste or smell.

Two school administrators were put on leave after allegations arose that there was a delay in shutting off facets and drinking fountains after high levels of lead were found.

The last day of school for students in the PPS district is Thursday.
